I love M&M cookies. When I think of M&M cookies, I think of these giant M&M cookies they sell at a nearby grocery store. Although this grocery store is more than just a grocery store. It’s called Wilsons Farms, and they have farmland all around the store where they grow most of their food and have a bakery section with homemade breads, cookies, cakes, etc. These cookies are probably the size of a small child’s face and topped with lots of M&M’s. I’ve only had one a couple of times, if that, but I always loved admiring them.
These cookies aren’t nearly as large, and are double chocolate instead of a regular cookie with M&M’s, but they’re just as delicious. Disclaimer, I actually decorated the surroundings of the cookies with Caramel M&Ms. My original idea was to make these cookies with only M&Ms and no chocolate chips, but the bag of M&Ms I bought only had 1 cup of M&Ms. I was so mad. I thought it was such a ripoff. It was one of those bags you tear off the top and it reseals because it’s not meant to be eaten in one sitting, so I thought there would be more M&Ms inside.
Anyways, nevertheless, I ended up having a bag of Caramel M&Ms on hand because I wanted to try them, so I used those to decorate the photos. That’s why those M&Ms are so round. If you’re looking for my thoughts on Caramel M&Ms, I think they’re pretty good, but not fantastic. They’re very chewy, which is expected, but they don’t have very much flavor so sometimes it’s not even worth it. I think they’re good for the first 5 M&Ms or so, and then I’m done. But of course I had to try them.
This recipe is simple, quick, and a classic. Happy baking!
