The Way the Cookie Crumbles

I always forget to write these. What can I say, I have organic chemistry to study for. Well, in between the time that I wrote the last cookie crumbles post and now, lots has happened. I had spring break and went to Washington D.C., then went home and baked a ton, then went to NYC and saw Phantom of the Opera. Since then, it’s been a studying craze, with some baking in between as well, of course.

The photo above is one of my favorite photos I took of D.C. It wasn’t a perfect day out, as you can see. Plus, the cherry blossoms weren’t in full bloom, but it’s still a nice photo. I like the clouds. Luckily, the rain held up until late that night, but I was thoroughly soaked by the time I got back to the hotel room. I also took the photo below from the World War II Memorial, in front of the reflecting pool. Unfortunately, it was a windy day, so the reflecting pool wasn’t reflecting very well. But, it’s still kind of pretty.

I also never introduced you to my new dog, Franklin! He’s a cutie pie and I love him to pieces. He can either be the ultimate coach potato, or run around for hours with what seems to be an endless supply of energy. It’s a good combination, in my opinion. He was a rescue, so we don’t know exactly what breed he is, but we think he’s part terrier, part Boxer, and part American Foxhound. If you look up a photo of an American Foxhound, he has the same coloration. But, he has the body of a Boxer and a little terrier in the face. No matter what breed he is, he’s perfect, and we’re so glad to be his forever home.

I actually took that photo of him when I was taking headshots of my parents for their LinkedIn accounts, but decided he was more interesting to photograph. Sorry not sorry.

This is just another photo I took at school recently when I really liked the colors in the sky. I also emphasized them a bit in Photoshop, I’ll admit, but the sky was beautiful that night. You can just barely make out the perfect crescent moon in the sky, too. It’s finally starting to get warmer here and I am so glad. It really makes you feel so much happier with warmer weather.

Hope your April is going well! ‘Til next time on the way the cookie crumbles!
