Hi everyone! Can you believe summer is over? Or maybe it’s not for you, but it is for me. I mean, technically we still have until September 22nd until summer is over, but classes started on Thursday so it sure does feel like it’s over. On top of that, it’s been low 70s here, which is very abnormal. Honestly, I’m totally fine with it, because it means my dorm room isn’t scorching hot, but it’s not typical Hamilton weather.
All these photos are from my trip to San Francisco. We went for a full week before I left for college to visit my grandmother, who lives in the Bay Area. It was a lot of fun! We went to Muir Woods – a redwood forest, the San Francisco botanical gardens, Japantown, Ghiradelli square, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Año Nuevo, and more. It’s getting harder and harder to get the whole family together now that we’re all getting older, so it was nice to have a family vacation with the whole squad there.
Now it’s back to the grind though! This semester is going to be my busiest, but everything I’m doing is something I really enjoy, so it should be fun too. I am taking four classes: developmental biology, organic chemistry II, environmental economics, and drawing. Two of those classes have 3-4 hour labs, and then I am also doing research with my marine biology professor. Plus, I have two on-campus jobs, I am going to be a dogwalker, I am a co-captain of the figure skating team, I am starting a “Humans of Hamilton” page for a project I’m doing, and I am a writer for Spoon University. Phew.
So, it’s going to be a whirlwind of a semester. Keeping that in mind, I probably will not post very often at all on my blog, so I’m sorry for that in advance. But after finals, I’ll relax at Christmas, have a month off to myself, and then fly to Turks and Caicos. So, I feel like I should be working hard if that’s the second half of my year. I’m so excited to go abroad though. I am so hyped up after just learning how to SCUBA dive, so it’s hard to sit back and not do any of that for awhile before I depart.
All in all, I’m doing well. I’m taking this semester one day at a time and I have no doubt I am capable of it all. Hope you are all doing well! Make sure to get in your last summer wish list items before next month! After that it’s pumpkin spice and everything nice.
